Make a gorgeous flower crown just under $2
17 April
Flower tiaras are
beautiful isn’t it?
I fancy tiaras but
somehow I just don’t buy it because I always wanted to make it.
You can buy one but it will cost you more
because the material for this flower crown won't cost more than Rs.100($1.5)
whereas ready-made tiaras may cost 300-400 per piece and who doesn't like
inexpensive things?
You'll need:
- Organdy fabric (red & pink)
- Scissor
- Green thread
- Wire
- Green tape
Steps :
- Wrap the wire around your head where you want your
tiara to be, it will bend easily and the base is ready, if you are not
able to cover it with one wire connect another and cover the whole band
with the green tape as shown in image below.
- Cut the organdy fabric into
small squares (5cm), according to my band size I used 30 roses and placed
it close to each other for which I used 90 squares however if you don’t
want to cut so many you can use 20 roses and place it at the distance of
4cm even that will appear to be beautiful.
- Now for the roses,
Fold the corners of the square to create the shape shown in image 3, then fold it along the center line like the 4th image.
- Curve the edges as shown in the
2nd image, you can use pen refill or toothpick or you can
do it easily with your fingers.
- Roll the first petal around the
wire tie it with the green thread and roll 3 times now place the second
petal around it, knot and roll I used three petals for one rose. You may
you more petals if you want bigger roses.
Now remove the wire by sliding it downwards.
- Next step is to attach the roses
to the band, place the rose on the band and start rolling the green thread
attaching backside of the rose to the band as shown in the image
below. Stop when it is tight enough and do that again for rest of
the roses.
- Once you attach all the roses,
cover all the thread part with the green tape.
Your handmade tiara is ready! ❤
It might be time
consuming but the result is remarkable as well.
You can
change the color or design according to your desire. I would love to see
you explore, don’t hesitate mailing me your work.
