How To Make Ethnic Earrings - Rakshabandhan Special

16 August

Rakshabandhan is round the corner and I’m sure all you ladies have decided the outfit you’re going to wear.
For my lovely foreign readers who have no any idea what rakshabandhan is, it’s a festival we celebrate in India where females tie knot (rakhi) around their brother's wrist and the brothers swear to protect their sisters.
Any festival is just a great excuse for us girls to get dressed up which I absolutely love. The vibe on any festive day is amazing everybody dressing up traditionally, so many sweets and good food Oh I love it!
I hope you too are excited like I am. Let’s get back to the dress up part so today I have a traditional earring made by paper craft and using some beads. I know the craze of having earrings that compliments your outfit. Its better you make it at home without spending a penny.

Material:
Quilling Papers
Adhesive
Scissors
Stones and beads
Earring hooks
Jewelry connector loops

Procedure:

1. Make a teardrop shape from the maroon strip as shown in the image below.
(Roll the strip around marker create and empty circle and transform it into a teardrop shape by pinching one side of the circle to form a point)

2. Apply glue at backside of stone and paste it on the teardrop like shown in the image.
3. Now take the silver bead and roll the maroon strip around it and paste the end with glue, make three circles like this one slightly bigger as shown in the image.
Paste all three circle as shown in the image.

4. Repeat the above step but this time with beige strip like shown in below image. Pinch it a little so it looks like a teardrop shape.

5. Now make another tear drop with beige strip and then follow it by using the maroon on like shown in the image below. You can use fevicol bottom part to roll the strip.
Using a marker roll the beige strip and make an empty circle as shown in the image below.

Time to attach everything.
6. Paste the circle inside the teardrop like shown in the image below.

7. Attach the connector and earring hook to the teardrop as shown in image below.

8. Now apply adhesive at bottom of stone teardrop and fit it inside the empty circle as shown in the image below.

9. Remember three maroon circles you pasted together? Apply adhesive at top and bottom part and fit it as shown in the image. Hold it together for 1-2 min and let dry.

10. Apply glue at the bottom of the biggest teardrop and paste the beige circles like shown in the image.

Repeat all steps to make the other part of earrings.
